Private health insurance can provide rebates for psychology appointments, often covered under extras policies. The level of cover and rebates can vary depending on the insurer and your specific policy. We recommend that you contact your insurance provider or review your policy details to understand the specific coverage.

Important

Some policies may have waiting periods or specific conditions before you can claim mental health services on your private health insurance (e.g. having to use all 10 Medicare eligible sessions first).​There may be annual limits on the number of sessions you can claim for as well. Furthermore, even with private health insurance, there will be an out-of-pocket fee which will vary depending on your insurance coverage.
