Do I need a referral?

No, you do not need a referral to see a psychologist at Progressive Steps Intervention. But if you would like to claim Medicare rebates, then you will need to discuss this first with your GP, psychiatrist or paediatrician who will then provide you with an appropriate referral.​

What if I need to cancel my appointment?
Our policy is to charge a 50% fee for the missed session if we receive less than 48 business hours notice and 100% of the fee if we receive less than 24 business hours notice or if you do not show up. If you believe you may have some difficulty attending the appointment, please plan ahead and let us know, we can always change the appointment to telehealth if you can no longer attend in-person. We would rather not have to charge for missed appointments if there is an alternative.

If you would like to reschedule your appointment after cancelling, please request to be placed back on the waitlist.​

Can I still have an appointment if my NDIS funding is Plan-Managed?

​You can still request for an appointment with our psychologists, but you will have to pay the fee upfront and then claim the fee through your plan managers yourself.

 

Unfortunately, Progressive Steps Intervention does not accept NDIA-managed clients.

Can I book an appointment a few months in advance?

It is our clinic's policy that we do not book appointments too far ahead of time to ensure clients are able to receive equal opportunities for appointments and to avoid human errors. We go through our waitlist a week before appointment offers. If you do not receive an appointment offer, you will still be on our waitlist until it is your turn or until another appointment option becomes available.​​
