What is the NDIS?

The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a new way of providing disability support and funding to more than 450,000 Australians who have permanent and significant disability that affects their daily life.
For more information, please visit www.ndis.gov.au/understanding

How do I access the NDIS?
If you are already receiving funding from a disability program, you will be contacted directly by the NDIS to help you roll over to the new scheme. If you do not currently receive funding support from a disability program, you can call the NDIS on 1800 800 110 to request access.

Am I eligible for NDIS support?
You may be eligible for NDIS support if:

  • Your mental illness or disability is permanent or life long, and affects daily activities

  • You are under the age of 65 years old

  • Live permanently in Australia

Reports and Review Assessments for NDIS
Reports, letters and form fill outs can only be done for current clients who regularly see Dr. Lim.

If your last appointment with Dr. Lim has exceeded two months, this means that she is not your current practitioner, and we suggest seeing your current GP, psychiatrist, paediatrician or psychologist to obtain the required evidence needed for the NDIS.

As there is a high demand for reports and letters, there is a waitlist for these documents that can take upward of 3 weeks to 2 months to complete. It is best to plan ahead to be sure that all documentation is obtained before a NDIS application/review deadline (Fees will apply for letters and reports).

"I've never officially had a diagnosis for my/my child's ASD. How do I go about getting this report for my NDIS application?
In order to provide evidence of ASD, arranging a diagnostic assessment is required. Our waitlist for diagnostic assessments are extensive (4-6 months), so contacting us (via phone or email) as soon as possible to be placed on the waitlist is suggested.

Please note: Dr. Lim will only assist in NDIS applications and reviews for those who are current clients of Dr. Lim's and who have appointment's regularly

Important:
As of July 2019, Progressive Steps Intervention will no longer take any new clients who are Plan Managed. If you are Self-Managing, please note that the full consultation fee will need to paid upon completion of appointment.
